Celebrating the Life of Rochelle Reeves Anderson
Elizabeth “Rochelle” Reeves Anderson peacefully left her earthly home and entered her eternal mansion on July 4, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born on February 12, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Rochelle was the beloved daughter of Russell and Jewel Reeves. During her years at Fair Park High School, she met the love of her life, Bob Anderson. Their love story blossomed into a marriage that lasted 63 wonderful years until Bob was called Home by the Lord.
Rochelle graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a degree in Education and began her career as an elementary school teacher in Caddo and East Baton Rouge Parishes. Later, she transitioned into real estate and loved selling homes for Durwood Gully. Above all, Rochelle was a devoted and unique pastor's wife who served alongside her husband for many years. She loved people, and loved her family and she loved being Bro. Bob’s wife.
Rochelle found JOY in life's simple pleasures. She loved sweets, shopping, Sanibel Island, adventures in her RVs, and spending time with her beloved puppy, Chloe. Her kindness, generous spirit, infectious smile, and love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Susan McKey and Janet (Dane) Blankenship; her grandchildren, Julie McKey, Matthew (Marissa) McKey, Melissa (Carter) Loftin, Bobby (Kristen) Blankenship, Reeves (Baylee) Blankenship, Sawyer (Jaelyn) Blankenship, Carlee Blankenship, and Preslee Blankenship; her five great-grandsons, Mac Loftin, Easton, Cameron, Remington, and Shepherd Blankenship; and one precious great-granddaughter (Loftin), expected to arrive in September. She is also survived by her brothers, Rusty (Judy) Reeves and Rodney Reeves.
Rochelle was also blessed with many dear friends who became like family, including Beverly Rawlins, Sid Coleman, Myrt Vick, Julee Frazier Harper, Laura Dupree, the cherished ladies of the Shenandoah Tea Party—Sue, Mary Ann, Kay, Linda, Beverly, Yvette, and Janette—and her devoted friend and executor, Jennifer Clark.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Bob Anderson; her son, Robert Anderson; and her parents, Russell and Jewel Reeves.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Blankenship, Reeves Blankenship, Carter Loftin, Matthew McKey, Bobby Robinson, and Ritchie Edmonds. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Dupree, Will Robbins, Dr. Brad Meek, and Scott Kirkpatrick.
Words cannot express how much Dr. Brad Meek meant to Rochelle. He was always there for her with great advice, and she loved his ties and socks. He really made her feel special.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Pinnacle Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Special thanks are given to Dr. Patel, Shelley Wintz—truly the best social worker ever—nurses Lacy, Ann Bolton, Shawn, and Chantel Denicola, CNA Chantel Brown, office scheduler Angela, and especially to Rochelle's dear friend and devoted caregiver, Sue Malehorn, affectionately known as "Sis."
Thank you Sonya Perry for spoiling our mom every Sunday. She loved you!
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, July 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church, with a celebration of Rochelle's life beginning at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Dr. Chris DeGeorge, Rev. Rick Edmonds, and Rev. Dane Blankenship.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park on Monday due to cemetery scheduling.
Though Rochelle's presence will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now reunited with her beloved Bob in her eternal mansion, where she is worshiping her Savior face to face. Her legacy of faith, love, generosity will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Her last words were, “I hope everyone finds JOY”
“To invest your seed of trust in God in mountains you can't move
You have risked your life on things you cannot prove
But to give the things you cannot keep for what you cannot lose
Now, that's the way to find the joy God has for you
So, hold on, my child, Joy comes in the morning
Weeping only last for the night, Hold on, my child,
Joy comes in the morning,
The darkest hour means dawn is just in sight
