Elgie Mae Babin Braud

March 1, 1933 — May 4, 2025

Elgie Mae Babin Braud, born in Brignac on March 1st, 1933, passed away at the age of 92 at her home in Gonzales, LA surrounded by her loved ones.

Elgie was known for her undying love for her family, a lasting yearning to keep everyone together no matter what. She loved to do puzzles, and was the 'Gloating Goat' in a game of dominoes. She loved to cook large meals for her family at get-togethers. Every Saturday morning, she loved to have homemade biscuits and coffee ready for porch conversations. She would spread the word of her love for Jesus to her family and all others who would listen.

Elgie Mae is survived by her daughters Linda Babin (Frankie); Brenda Allen (Sammy); and Glynda Braud (Mark Amedee); as well as a numerous host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren!

She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin J. Braud; and sons Russell and Stanley Braud.

The family of Ms. Elgie would like to extend their thanks to Brittany Cubbage and Sherrilyn Sabo for always being there for her.
