Effie Josie Templet

Effie Josie Templet born July 25, 1939 in Brignac, Louisiana to Dallas and Woodie Templet. She was the youngest of 2, including one brother Ronald Templet. Josie was raised in Gonzalas where she attended school and graduated in 1957. She had 4 children Jayson Carl, Stacy Denise, Ernest Drake, Philip Lance (Charlie). Josie attended college later in life after raising her children. She graduated from Nursing school in 1984. Josie worked for St. Francis Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 20 plus years. She retired but continued to do consulting work for the hospital. Josies hobbies were cooking, bowling, fishing, gardening, dancing, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed dancing so much that she encouraged and taught each of her children to dance. The family feels her favorite last great dance was on her 83rd birthday when all the children came to the dance and spent the evening with her. She also had a love for basketball and football, and she was an avid OU and LSU fan. She later moved back to Louisiana to take care of her mother for close to 10 years. Once her mother passed, she moved back to Oklahoma to be with her children. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Josie was placed Clarehouse on April 17th, 2023. In her final days family recalls telling stories that she was listening to that she was able to smile, laugh, and comment on. One particular statement was that “I created this.” We were very fortunate to be able to have most of the family visit and say their goodbyes and show their love for her. We also were able to do several video chats with other family that was unable to be here. She even tried to talk to them and get the words out “I love you”. She was predeceased in death by her mother, Woodie Ferguson; step father, Morgan Ferguson; brother, Ronald Templet; and father, Dallas Templet. She left behind her children, Jayson Moffitt and wife Darla, Stacy Moffitt, Ernie Moffitt and wife Jennifer, Charlie Moffitt and wife, Shelly. Seven grandchildren Ashley Sheehan and husband Ryan, Kord Combs and wife Jessica, Drake Moffitt and wife Sydney, Garrett Moffitt and wife Rebecca, Jener Moffitt, Philip Moffitt, Josie Moffitt. Six great grandchildren, RaeLynn, Ryleigh, Remington, Blakeleigh, Logan, Hayzel, and number 7 on the way. The Templet family will receive friends and family from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday May 5th with services following at 10:30 am at the Faithful United Methodist Church in St. Amant, Louisiana. Andy Williams will be officiating the services with special guests The Barber Brothers singing. Pallbearers will be Drake Moffitt, Garrett Moffitt, Jener Moffitt, Kord Combs, Marc Heath, and Ryan Sheehan. Josie will be laid to rest at the Faithful United Methodist Church Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Church Funeral Services in St. Amant.
