Edward "Eddie" Joseph Cambre, 71, of Baton Rouge, passed away on May 19, 2024, at his home in Alford, Florida following a brief battle with cancer. He took his last breath surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly.
Eddie was born on December 21, 1952, in Baton Rouge to Vincent and Juanita Cambre. He grew up in Baker and attended Redemptorist High School. Eddie was a free spirit and lived life wide open and to the fullest. He preferred to be outside, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, or just cruising around in his Kubota, taking in the sights of the woods and swamp on his property. He was a big fan of LSU sports. Eddie loved spending time with his family. He dearly loved his sons, grandchildren, and great-grand children.
Eddie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Byars Cambre; son, Edward Joseph "Joey" Cambre Jr.; grandchildren Christian and Ryan Kent, Corey Cambre, Carli and Chase Boudreaux, Katherine and Mitchell Haendel, Darian Cambre, and Colin Cambre; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Juanita McDonald, and brother-in-law, Leland; brothers Vincent "Butch" Cambre, Paul Cambre, sister-in-law Mary.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Cambre; father, Vincent T. Cambre Sr; sister, Margaret Ann Cambre; brother, James Cambre Sr.; and son, Jamie Cambre.
Services for Eddie will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville on Friday, May 24th, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m., followed by interment at Prairieville Community Cemetery behind St. John.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Kent, Corey Cambre, Bobby Champion, Alvin Ballard, Jude Cambre, and Damian Cambre, with Kobie Kent serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
