Ednice Garraton Bailey Savoy, born January 28th, 1942, peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with melanoma on March 20th 2026 , leaving behind a legacy of love, family devotion, and Catholic faith. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Ednice was the beloved wife of Lee Joseph Savoy Jr. of 62 years. Together, they built a strong and loving family.
Proceeded in death by her parents, Cap. Charles Lawrence Garraton , Col . Stephen Joseph and Margaret Bailey, and brother Chuck Bailey
She is survived by her five children : Michelle Firmin (Pete), Lee J. Savoy III, Shannon Cave (Christopher ), Ashley Daughety (Patrick ), and Charles Douglas Savoy (Angie).
She is survived by her siblings, Gina Bailey (wife of Chuck ),Steve Bailey (Beverly), Bob Bailey(Kay), Van Bailey(Nancy), Gregg Bailey (Susan), and Gahan Bailey
Her greatest joy came from her (15) grandchildren and (13)great grandchildren who affectionately called her Mamie.
Also survived by host of nieces and nephews
Ednice’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her generous spirit. She was a pillar of strength and comfort, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Her legacy will live on through the love she shared and the family she nurtured.
Ednice (Mamie)will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved her.
A visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church located at 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday,March 30, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Louisiana National Cemetery.
