Dustin James Mayon

A memorial service celebrating the life of Dustin James Mayon will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024, at 3 pm at Knights of Columbus Hall, Baldwin, La. Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of the service.

Dustin was born on June 4, 1970, in Franklin, LA and passed from this life on April 2, 2024, at Ochsner LSU Health Medical Center Shreveport at the young age of 53 years.

He was a resident of Franklin, La. He was a graduate of Franklin Senior High School. He attended Crossing Place Fellowship in Franklin, La. He was a people person and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered by his giving heart, always bringing a smile to others, and always willing to give a helping hand when needed. He enjoyed cruising vacations for fun and detailing vehicles for others.

In death he was a hero. By being an organ donor and tissue donor, he chose to bless others’ lives with his organs and support research.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Billy Duhon; his father, Allen Mayon; sister, Vanessa Camarata; stepsiblings; Billy Boy Duhon Jr., Veronica Bell, and husband Larry Bell. He is also survived by his only niece, Lydia Damron and his beloved canine companion “Zoey”.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ovey and Lydia Duhon; paternal grandparents, Eula and Aldon Mayon, Sr.; and his stepsister, Tina Duhon.
