Duane Gerard Kling

Duane Gerard Kling, 64, of Gonzales, LA passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center. He was a 1977 graduate of East Ascension High School and a graduate of ITI Technical College. His fondest memories with his son were the times they shared fishing, camping, and boating together when Jared was a young boy. They also enjoyed car and air shows. His hobbies included jewelry making and taking pictures of wildlife and nature. He is survived by his son, Jared Daniel Kling and his fiancé Breanna Vernon and her daughter, Sydney; two sisters, Ruth Easley Smith and Melanie Kling; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Daniel and Beverly Kling, and Randy Kling; one niece, Andrea Kling Remont (Aaron); two nephews, Jeremy Kling (Joy) and Max Kling; two great nephews, Aiden Remont and Ransom Kling; and one great niece, Stella Kling. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonce Paul Kling, Jr. and Annie Bruno Kling and one brother-in-law, Ron Smith. Funeral services will be held at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA on Thursday, October 12th. A rosary and a Divine Mercy chaplet will be recited at 10 am followed by a funeral mass at 11am. A burial will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery on Hwy 30 in Gonzales, LA. A luncheon will be hosted at St John the Evangelist Church Activity Center.
