Dorothy Hood Wax

Dorothy Hood Wax, affectionately known as "Granny" to her grandchildren, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Flannery Oaks Guest House. Born on March 30, 1939, in Denham Springs to Garney and Violet Hood. She was 86 years old.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jerry and Darryl Mack. She is also survived by her grandson, Michael B. Wax and Josie and three great-grandchildren, Wesley, Delylah, and Tabitha, along with their mother Sarah Wax. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Bob) Fulton and brother, Garney (Toby) Hood, a sister-in-law, Sylvia T.

Wax, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a lifelong member of Hebron Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Floyd Gay Wax, her daughter Frances (Jean) Wax, her parents, 8 brothers-in-law, and 5 sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM at Hebron Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
