Donna Falke Knight

Donna Falke Knight, 86, of Baton Rouge slipped peacefully into the arms of our Lord on March 4, 2023, at home surrounded by family and friends. Donna met and married Velton Knight while they attended the University of Southern Mississippi and upon graduation in 1956 began their life’s journey of over 66 wonderful years together. During this time, they changed permanent addresses over 23 times and 7 states and the District of Columbia while following career moves which included service as a school teacher and then with the Louisiana State Department of Human Resources from which she retired in 1987. She was an avid volunteer and participated in numerous religious, social, and professional organizations at each and every opportunity enabling the establishment of many, many lifelong friends. Survivors include her husband, Velton Knight, and four children, Diane Heins (Monty), Karyn Tisdale (Errol), Julia Falcon (Steve), and Lt. Col. David Knight (Stacie), seven grandchildren Josh Tisdale (Dawn), Jacob Tisdale (Becca), Ethan Heins, Caroline Heins, John Knight (Angie), William Knight, and Kaeli Knight. She is also survived by her only sibling, Charles Falke of the Philippines. Plans for a Memorial Service in her honor to be held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, are incomplete.
