Donald P. Chauvin

Donald Paul Chauvin entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 19 at the age of 66. He was born in Lutcher on January 11, 1957. He was raised in Lutcher, started his family in Garyville and later became a resident of Gonzales. Donald, also known as Hik and Don, enjoyed many years working on the Mississippi River as a Longshoreman at Cooper T Smith. He took great pride in his work on the river and was very good at his job. He often shared stories of all the interesting people he would meet from other countries and his collection of mementos from those countries. Upon retirement he has been enjoying his role as a Paw Paw spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with friends cooking meals. He inherited his carpentry skills, which he used to do many wood working projects, from his father. He was a great handyman who was always willing to help. He leaves behind his daughter Candy Rollo (Michael), sons Cody and Cain Chauvin, grandchildren Mia, Vic and Lily, siblings Beverly Many, EJ and Ricky Chauvin, former spouse Pam Mancuso and loving pet Baby Girl. He was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents Wilbert and Maud Letulle Chauvin and nephew Adam Chauvin. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday May 9th at LifeHouse Church, 3556 W Airline Hwy, Reserve, LA; visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
