Donald Wayne Giles

John 3:16 
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” 

Donald went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 5th, 2026 at the age of 80. A native of Lecompte, LA, and resident of Walker, LA; he retired from Exxon as a machinist, and enjoyed self-employment for many years. Donald was an outdoorsman and enjoyed nature and camping in The Great Smokey Mountains. He also had a gift for woodworking, planting beautiful gardens, and enjoyed fishing. God, family, and friends were the center of his life, he never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Later in life he was blessed with two grandchildren. Bella, his beautiful foster granddaughter that he loved and adored. His heart was totally consumed when his grandson Daniel was born. They were inseparable and best buddies. Donald taught Daniel about gardening, and building things. They spent hours outside riding on the lawnmower or golf cart with neighborhood children. 

 He is survived by his wife of 42 years Wanda Giles; daughters Kim Giles, Anna Aitken (Chris); grandchildren Bella and Daniel; sisters Diane Jenkins and Lois Lyle; brother Carl Giles (Carolyn); a host of in-laws, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by parents Branchard and Evelyn Giles; brother Louie Giles; sister Catherine Marreo; mother and father-in-law Burlon and Bobbye McGehee. 

The family of Donald Giles would like to express love and appreciation to Pastor Wes and Melissa Courtney, as well as their Revival Temple Church family. 

A very heart-filled thank-you to our wonderful family, neighbors and friends who reached out to us at our time of need with love and compassion. 

Donald was a faithful member of Revival Temple Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Revival Temple Mission Funds in Donald's name. 

A visitation will be held for Donald on February 21st, 2026 at Revival Temple 28521 Walker South Rd. Walker, LA 70785 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a religious service to follow. Burial at Revival Temple Cemetery will take place at a later time.
