Donny rested peacefully in God’s hands on April 11, 2026, at the age of 76. Donny was born to James and Clara “Maw Maw Betty” Britt on December 8, 1949, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. From an early age, he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. Hunting was more than a hobby to Donny—it was a place of peace, reflection, and tradition, where he found joy and created lasting memories. He met Kelley Carpenter, and they were married on February 1, 1997. For 29 years, Donny shared a strong and loving marriage with his best friend. Their relationship was built on loyalty, companionship, and a quiet understanding that carried them through life’s seasons together. Donny was a devoted father who loved his children deeply and took pride in being present for his family. He believed in showing love through his actions—providing, protecting, and guiding with steady strength and humility. Whether at home or outdoors, he carried himself as a man of integrity, kindness, and simple values. He found his greatest happiness in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is survived by his loving mother, Clara “Maw Maw Betty” Britt; his devoted wife, Kelley; his sisters, Barbara and Joy; his children; numerous grandchildren; and a large extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many dear friends who will all miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, James; his brother, Randy; and his son, Brannon Lee. Donny will be remembered as a good man—one who loved his family fiercely, lived with purpose, and found peace in the quiet beauty of the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help support the family during this time and assist with final expenses. Contributions may also be made in Donny’s memory to a charity or cause that reflects his love for the outdoors, ensuring that his legacy of appreciation for nature and simple living continues on for others to experience.
