Dennis James Brown

Dennis James "Denny" Brown, born in Baton Rouge, LA on January 7, 1953, passed away on June 27, 2026, in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 73. Denny graduated from Redemptorist High School and remained an active member of their alumni community. He enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers play while gathering with friends and family to do so if possible. He spent a lot of time sitting outside on his porch, and in his later years, he enjoyed watching birds. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved spending time with them. Denny is survived by his children, Amy Brown, Christian Brown, and Karyn Brown Murphy (Richard); Stepchildren, Troy Patt and April Patt Brown; siblings, Sharon Brown Cox (Richard), Donna Brown Cleary (Chris), and Anita Brown Braud (Arthur); 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Strickland Brown; parents, Earl and Elaine Ducote Brown; his beloved pet, Festus. Denny’s personal anthem is best represented by his chosen song “My Way” by Frank Sinatra:

For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught.

To say the things he truly feels

And not the words of one who kneels.

The record shows I took the blows

And did it my way! 

His family and friends appreciated the way he did things his way and will miss him greatly. A service to celebrate Denny's life will be held on a future date.
