Debra Jean Vanderpool Dalton, known affectionately as Debbie, was born on June 5, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late John Vanderpool Sr. and Yvonne Bowman Vanderpool. After a life devoted to her family and community, Debra entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her home in Baton Rouge, surrounded by her loving family.
Debra was a proud graduate of Cohn High School in Nashville, Tennessee, Class of 1971. Her commitment to her faith was evident as she attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge, cherishing the connections she made within her Parish community.
Debra's life was enriched by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Renee' Willey, and her husband Aaron; her granddaughter, Autumn Estelle (10); her sibling, Johnny Vanderpool Sr., and his wife Christal; along with five nieces and nephews, five great nieces and nephews, and a host of great-great nieces and nephews.
Debra was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. A Mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, located at 8833 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on May 24, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebratory reception. A Celebration of Life is also planned in Nashville, TN this summer.
She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lesley Michelle Dalton, and her sibling, Frank Vanderpool. Debra’s legacy of love, devotion to her family, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
