Deborah Elizabeth DeBruyn, aged 76, on Sunday morning, June 14 at The Crossing on Bluebonnet. Survived by her beloved spouse and partner of 49 years, Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Naquin, Deborah was born on November 16, 1949 in Mobile and raised in New Orleans. In 1977, she moved to Baton Rouge. Deborah was a consummate homemaker. She loved books, the news, jewelry-making, plants, dogs, bees, and Cuddles, her Yellow Nape Amazon parrot. She will be missed by all those who loved her. May her memory be eternal.

Deborah is also survived by her nephews, Aaron M. Lawrence of Tampa and Martin E. Lawrence of Plaquemine; a niece, Elizabeth P. Speights (Robbie) of Ruston; a loving cousin, Joanie M. Slana of Mobile; a long-time, dear friend Janet M. Cazes (Mary Anne) of Port Allen, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William DeBruyn, her mother, Elizabeth (Libby) Rolls Juan, her younger brother, William (Billy) DeBruyn, Kathy’s mother, Helen W. Naquin and Kathy’s sisters, Mary Jean Thomas and Helen S. Lawrence.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.

Deborah’s family would like to thank Nina Oliveaux and the staff of Clarity Hospice for their compassionate care.
