Davis W. Rimes Jr., affectionately known as Davy or David, passed away on October 2, 2026, in Walker, Louisiana, at the age of 76. He was born on May 8, 1950, in Independence, Louisiana.
He retired after 42 years of service with the telephone company. He loved woodworking, fishing, and gardening; however, he didn't mind trying new things. His passion was time spent with his family and friends.
Davis will be remembered with love by those closest to him. He is survived by his wife, Linda Rimes, of 56 years. He also leaves behind his son, John Davis Rimes and wife Kim; his daughter, Barbara Rimes Taylor and husband Jeremy; and his granddaughter, Olivia Rimes. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Joyce Rimes David and husband Henry, Ben Rimes and wife Sheryl, Robert Rimes and wife Robin and Dapheny Rimes.
He will be missed not just by his loving family, but also his faithful canine companion Bella.
The love of his family stands as a lasting part of his memory and the life he shared with them over many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Davis Rimes Sr.; his mother, Ann Scafidel Rimes; his brothers, Chuck Rimes and Billy Rimes; and his sister, Kathleen Rimes Ryle.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Davis life on Tuesday October 6, 2026, at First Pentecostal Church in Bethel Chapel for visitation at 10:00 am until time of the service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Gateway Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in Livingston.
Davis memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him, and his legacy will live on in his family.
