David Michael Hamner, age 65, passed away at his home in St. Gabriel on Monday, September 12, 2022, surrounded by all his family. He was a retired Lieutenant Game Warden with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. He was born in Baton Rouge on September 4, 1957. He is survived by his three daughters and their families, Tricia and Ralph Walker, Kelly and Joel Forbes, Randi and Heath Hardie. He had eight grandchildren that he deeply adored and loved: JuliaRose Walker, Owen Forbes, Addison Forbes, Kaylee Hardie, Tucker Hardie, Jace Hardie, Jake Forbes and Hank Hardie. He is also survived by his brother and sister: Tom and Lisa Hamner and Elizabeth and Phillip Stephenson and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents George Thomas Hamner, Jr. and Mary McLendon Hamner. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Jefferson United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and service will start at 11:30am. The family would like to thank everyone at Hospice of Baton Rouge for their service during this difficult time.
