David Arlen Gates

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at First Assembly of God Church in Youngsville honoring the life of David Arlen Gates, 69, who passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and the service following at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Thomas Faulk, Sr., will be officiating. David is survived by his wife, Roxanna Paul-Gates, of Deville, LA, daughters Michelle Gates Bourque and her husband, Clay, of Abbeville, LA, and Tiffany Gates Broussard and her husband, Shane, of Pensacola Beach, FL. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Charlene Paul of Deville, LA, step-son Joseph Lynn Freeman, and his wife Ginger of Belle Rose, LA, and a stepdaughter Kristine “Kristy” Bankovic, and her husband Chris from Hammond, LA., one brother Wayne Gates and his wife Nancy of McAlester, OK, two sisters, Diane Gates Bodker and her husband David of San Antonio, TX, Karen Gates Wood and her husband Lee of Schertz, TX, brother-in-law Michel “Boo” Paul and his wife Stacy of Deville, LA, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alpheus and Wanda Gates, and one brother, Larry Gates.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge for all of their care and compassion.
