Darrell Ray Smith Jr.

Darrell Ray Smith Jr., 46, of Livingston, La., passed away on May 20, 2026. Born on October 8, 1979, in Baton Rouge, La., Darrell was the beloved son of Darrell Ray Smith Sr. and Sharon McGraw Humphreys Smith. Throughout life, Darrell was known for his kind heart, quick wit, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

 Darrell dedicated his career to skilled trade and construction work and took pride in his strong work ethic, reliability, and the respect he earned from coworkers and clients alike. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, listening to music, and gathering with family and friends, and especially loved making memories with his son, Zak'aryah. 

Darrell is survived by his son, Zak'aryah Dewayne Lewis and Zak'aryah's Mother Brittany Marie Lewis; his parents, Darrell Ray Smith Sr. and Sharon McGraw Humphreys Smith; his brothers, William Cody Smith Sr. (Jenny Mylius); Jeremy Olinde Alexander (Marlene) his niece and nephews , Ava ; C.J; Wyatt and Chase ; Great Aunts and Uncles; Pat Summer; Larry Humphreys (KaKi); Doris Jones (Cecil); Mike Smith (Sandra); Aunts and Uncles Rhondalyn McGraw Alexander (Alex); Clay Humphreys; Ray Humphreys (Jennifer); Lisa Humphreys; and his godchild, Ryleigh Michelle Kimbro.

 Darrell was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray L. Smith and Gladys Estelle Byrd Smith; his maternal grandparents, Charles Wayne Humphreys, Billie Duff McGraw, and bonus grandfather Virgil Wilton McGraw Sr.; his aunts, Debbie Smith and Donna Smith Benfield; his cousins, Rhondalyn Michelle Alexander Jr. Brandi Leigh O'Neal; and his bonus uncle, Clark Edwin McGraw. 

Those who knew Darrell will remember him for his loyalty, willingness to help others, and deep love for his family. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

 A Memorial Service will be held on June 6, 2026, at Christ's Community Church, 26547 Juban Rd., Denham Springs, La. 70726, visitation will begin at 9:30 am until time of the service at 10:30 am.
