Daniel “Danny” Reid Brady, born February 20, 1949 and died November 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving ones. He was a man whose life was defined by his love for the outdoors, his generous heart, and, above all, his family.
A graduate of Plaquemine High School, Danny played football during his high school years. He also proudly served in the Louisiana National Guard, a service he held with great pride. Danny was an avid horseman who loved horses and the Western way of life. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors.
Those who knew Danny knew him as one of the most caring people, someone who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He had a kind heart, a generous spirit, and a way of making people feel welcome. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren the skills he had learned throughout his life, sharing his knowledge and passing along lessons that would stay with them forever. Danny was also an incredible cook, known for his barbecue, fish fries, and seafood boils, which became family favorites. These gatherings were about so much more than the food; they were about laughter, making memories, and having the people he loved all together. More than anything, Danny loved his family, and having everyone gathered around him was what made him happiest.
Danny was a devoted husband to Terry Gilbert Brady and a proud father of six children: Robert Paul Brady; Danielle (Anthony) Bleifeld; Angelle (Andre) Landry; Michelle (Darrick) Shank; Kristy (Nathan) Foster; and Keith (Charli) Gilbert. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren: Audrey Shank, Alanni (Kade) Seneca, Seth Hagedorn, Foster Shank, Kendall Shank, Avery Landry, Bryce LeBlanc, and Ali LeBlanc.
He is also survived by his sisters, Alice (Peedy) Mire and Mickey (John III) Wilbert, along with many nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robbie; his parents, Robert “Bob” and Leana Boudreaux Brady; and his sister, Eileen Brady Dauzat.
Danny’s legacy is found in the kindness he showed, the skills he passed down, the meals he prepared, and the family he brought together. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love, lessons, and traditions forward. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In accordance with Danny’s wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
