Dallis W. Erwin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dallis Wayne Erwin on August 20, 2026, at his cherished home in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Born on November 5, 1955, Dallis was a father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his warmth and humor. Dallis was the cherished son of the late James Alton Erwin Sr. and Evelyn (Tyler) Erwin.

 He shared an unbreakable bond with his predeceased brothers, James Alton Jr. and Harold, and his brother-in-law Curtis Miley. He is survived by his daughter Darlene Chenier and son-in-law Cade, who blessed him with two grandsons, Hayden and Levi. Dallis is also survived by his brother Michael Erwin and sister-in-law Tonya, and his sister Cecile Miley, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory dear. 

From a young age, Dallis worked alongside his father and brothers as a skilled carpenter, laying the foundation for a diverse and fulfilling career. He later ventured into the seafood business and eventually managed rental properties before dedicating his later years to his true passion for farming and raising livestock.

 Dallis found joy in gardening, nurturing every plant with care and devotion. A man known for his keen eyesight and quick wit, Dallis brought laughter to those around him with his knack for storytelling. He had a profound love for music, particularly the guitar, and cherished gatherings where friends and family would come together for barbecues and impromptu jam sessions that filled the air with joy and camaraderie.

A celebration of Dallis's life will be held on August 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 37818 Reinniger Rd, Denham Springs, Louisiana. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Dallis are invited to join in honoring his memory.

 The Erwin family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his caregiver Kenneth and Pinnacle Hospice for the compassionate care and patience provided during Dallis's final days. Dallis Wayne Erwin's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
