Dale Warren Miller

Dale Warren Miller, a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, at Clarity Hospice, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Baton Rouge on October 30, 1946. The family moved to Shreveport when he was 5. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity at LSU from where he graduated. He immediately began working for the Louisiana Department of Labor where he worked for over 30 years until he retired. He loved playing golf, camping, hiking in Colorado, and watching LSU football. He was a kind and gentle man. We feel blessed to have shared our lives with him.

Dale is survived by his sister, Barbara Burge; 3 nephews, Michael Walsh, Brooks Burge, and Wes Burge; great nephews, Joshua Ikana Walsh and Cameron Burge; close friend, Cyndi Frost, as well as friends, David and June Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mariam and Lamar Miller, and sister, Marijo Walsh.

There will be no public memorial, however the family will celebrate Dale’s life and scatter his ashes in Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado where he enjoyed hiking. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Dale's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or any charity of your choice.
