Curtis “Curt” Wayne Holmes

Curtis “Curt” Wayne Holmes, 78, of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023 at BRGH with his wife of 57 years by his side. Curt was a loyal, dedicated, and loving husband, a true friend, a strong an honorable man who battled multiple cancers, achieving remission shortly before losing his final battle to COVID.  Curt is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Mouch Holmes, and their daughters, Tara Holmes Ball and Stephanie Holmes Campbell. He was a cherished grandfather to Andrew “Drew” Ball, who shared a special bond with his “Grump,” Katie Campbell, Jack Campbell, and William Campbell. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Chaffin and Mildred Gwin Holmes, his brother, John Richard Holmes, and his grandson, Connor Louis Ball. Curt was a US Army veteran, serving his country from 1966 to 1970 in the Missiles Division in Van Nuys, CA.  He went on to build a successful career in the medical field , retiring in 2012 from the company he founded, EcoSterile, Inc. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, located at 2025 Stuart Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. In remembrance of Curt, contributions may be made to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA. Curt will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of strength, love, and dedication will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have had him in their lives.
