Clifton "Cliff" LeMaire, 78, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with interstitial lung disease. He was born on November 16, 1947, in Port Arthur.
Cliff lived a life defined by service, faith, family, and fellowship. He proudly served his country as a member of the Air National Guard, carrying with him a deep respect for duty and community throughout his life.
A devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Gonzales from 1983 until 2026, Cliff's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was also a member of the Capital Area Beekeepers Association, where he shared his appreciation for beekeeping and the outdoors. Cliff found joy and camaraderie as part of the Pelican Point Senior Golf League and was a proud supporter of LSU women's basketball through his involvement with the LSU Girls Basketball Fastbreak Club.
Cliff had many passions that brought him happiness throughout his life. He loved woodworking, spending hours crafting pieces for family and friends. He enjoyed golfing with friends, duck hunting in the early mornings, and faithfully following LSU Lady Tigers basketball. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Heather LeMaire; his mother, Betty Dorsey; his father, J.D. LeMaire; his grandmother, Isabella Dorsey; his sister, Phyllis LeMaire; and his nephew, David Grant.
Cliff is survived by his devoted wife, Judy LeMaire; his daughters, Amber Courtois and her husband Stephen Courtois, and Joni Guidry Sheets and her husband Yves Sheets; his grandsons, Alexander Courtois and his wife Zurisaday, Colin Vargas, and Dilan Courtois; his sister, Pam Grant and her family, Bryan and Jeremy; and his brother, Chris LeMaire. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss his steady presence, warm smile, and generous heart.
Cliff will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his quiet strength, and his deep love for those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he adored, and the community he faithfully served.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2026, at First United Methodist Church on 224 W Constitution in Gonzales, LA. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with service to follow at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making donations to the Pulmonary Fibrous Foundation in Mr. Cliff's honor.
