Cleven Sandres, Jr.

Staff Sergeant Cleven Sandres Jr of Gonzales, La, passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 67. Cleven was born in New Orleans Louisiana on September 1, 1955, to Ammie DeBoe Sandres and Cleven Sandres Sr. He was the only son of nine children. Cleven graduated from East Ascension High School 1974. While in the Army Services, he received numerous degrees, certificates, and achievements. He was a retired US Army veteran with more than twenty years of service. His family was so proud of him, and he will be greatly missed by family and friends. He loved coming home to visit all his extended family members. Anticipating his arrival, his mom stocked up on Pepsi drinks because she knew how much he loved them. Cleven was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Isom and Viola Sandres and maternal grandparents Finas and Stella DeBoe; four sisters Henrieta Jackson, Geraldine Reed, Viola Britten, and Brenda Thompson. He is survived by four sisters Patricia (George) Britten, Naomi Sandres, Karen (Perry) Jackson, and Arleen (Roddy) James and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The visitation will begin at 9:00am and the memorial service at 10:00am. The service will be held at The Church International, 13423 La 431, St Amant, La 70774 on Saturday, August 26, 2023, with military honors provided by the US Army.
