Cleveland Daniel "CD" Clement Jr.

Cleveland, known as CD Clement Jr, was a native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of Gonzales, LA. He was born on December 31, 1928, and passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, in Kenner, LA. CD was an educator, civil servant, and mentor of many. He was a WWII veteran (Army Master Sergeant). Among his awards were the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation – Japan Medal. He graduated from E.D. White High School, Francis T. Nichols Junior College, and LSU. He was a member of the weight-lifting team at Nichols and the baseball teams at Nichols and LSU. CD taught at E.D. White High School, Nichols College, and LSU. After teaching, he worked in the oil field then as an administrator for the City of Thibodaux. CD served as ex-officio Mayor of Thibodaux for 3 years. He was a senior marketing advisor for Ochsner Health and Humana Insurance and served as an Emergency Preparedness contact for WWL-TV weatherman, Nash Roberts for Lafourche, Terrebonne, St Mary, and Assumption Parishes.

CD is preceded in death by his parents Cleveland Dennis and Agnes Bergeron Clement; Dennis Clement (son); Brad Clement (grandson); and Shirley Pisciotti, lifelong friend of 20 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Nelwyn LeBoeuf; grandson George Clement (son of Dennis Clement) and his children, Kayleigh, Beaux and Brynleigh Clement; Jerry Clement (son) and granddaughter, Laurie Clement Pearce and children.

CD wished to acknowledge his deepest gratitude to Nelwyn LeBoeuf & family, Rose Trosclair & family, Fr. John Lambert, and the staff of Azalea Estates Assisted Living of Gonzales and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home for their care, love, and support. He will be interred with military honors in a private ceremony. The family extends gratitude to Church Funeral Services in St Amant, for providing compassionate & quality care for his final needs.
