Clarence"Ron" Ronald Brown

Clarence Ronald “Ron” Brown, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, at his residence in Prairieville with his son by his side.

Ron was born at home in the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans on November 9, 1931, to the late Clarence and Lena Seckfort Brown. He attended Holy Cross High School, where he played football, and graduated with the Class of 1950.

He then enlisted and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Following military service, he attended and graduated from LSU and spent several years teaching English and Chemistry in New Orleans public schools. He later became a civilian contractor with the Department of Defense and was posted to a U. S. Army base in France, where he met and married his wife, who was a Captain in the Army. Upon returning to the U.S., Ron became a certified public accountant and spent his professional career in accounting. In the mid 90s He and his son started a construction
company building custom homes in the New Orleans area. He was an avid golfer throughout his life and played with the same group of friends every Sunday.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Deloe; parents and sisters; and granddaughter, Katie. He is survived by his children, Ronnie Brown and Cindy Self (Robert); granddaughter, Ashlinn; and extended family. Burial services will be held privately at Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery with close family and friends.
