A ceremony celebrating the life of Charity Hope Havis will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday June 7, 2025, at Friendly Faith Tabernacle, Independence officiating the service will be Rev. J. B. Davis.
Charity was born on September 1, 1981, in Beaufort, South Carolina, and rested from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2025, at the age of 44 years. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, and enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all who knows her and loves her.
She is preceded in death by a sister Gwendolyn “Lynne” Moore, a brother Richard Benton, grandmothers Nellie Heape and Fannie Givens.
Survivors include her children Devon Givens, Joseph N. Havis III (Samantha), and Sierra Havis (Lonnie), mother Wendy Benton (Buddy), father Bartow Benton, dad Ronnie Givens, siblings Joshua Benton and Melissa Joseph, also survived by three grandchildren that she dearly loves, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
