Carroll H. Gilchrist

Carroll Hughes Gilchrist peacefully passed away on May 25, 2025 at the age of 81. She is survived by her daughter Darnell Aucoin-Lowry (Troy) and her son Edward Aucoin III along with her grandchildren Gabrielle Aucoin, Hunter Lowry and Samantha Aucoin. She is also survived by her sister Marie Hinchey. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Frances Hughes along with her sister Judy Blanchard and her beloved husband Wilson Gilchrist. Carol graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1962, which marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to hard work. Carol loved outings to the casino, music and dancing, and playing buncos with family and friends. 

The family extends their profound gratitude to The Pearl at Jamestown and to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice for their compassionate care and unwavering support. 

A mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Prairieville on Friday, June 6 at 11:00AM. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 9:30AM until mass. A reception luncheon will follow in the church community center.
