Carolyn McCoy Brooks

Carolyn McCoy Brooks, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on November 20, 2023, at the age of 69.  She was the beloved wife of Billy Brooks for 33 years; the devoted mother of Benjamin Reed Wells (Emily), Kylie Wells Glaze, Wanda Brooks Duco (Fabian), Sandra Brooks Richardson (John); proud grandmother of Cody Cohoon (Hannah), Faith Donaldson (Trey LeBlanc), Bennett Wells, Rhaylee Glaze (Trevor Hebert), Blaise Donaldson, Owen Wells, Grayson Glaze, Maddix Donaldson, Isaac Glaze, Micalyn Glaze, Amelia Wells, Matilda Wells, Dawson Richardson, Delaini Richardson, Daulton Templet; honored great grandmother, Emmy and Ellie Cohoon, Saylor Hebert, Paislee LeBlanc, Hudson Richardson, and Jax Robert. She is also survived by siblings, Ronnie McCoy (Vicki), Richard McCoy (Debbie), a loving sister Joyce Witmer (Bill); sister-in-law, Danna McCoy, married to the late Matthew McCoy; loving mother, Betty Brown McCoy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.  Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Allen James “Jimmy” McCoy. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Household of Faith Church in Gonzales (10469 Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA 70737) from 10am until service time at 11am.  Burial to follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park in Prairieville. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Cody Cohoon, Bennett Wells, Owen Wells, Blaise Donaldson, Maddix Donaldson, Grayson Glaze, and Isaac Glaze.  Honorary pallbearers will be Richard McCoy, Ronnie McCoy, and Trevor Hebert.  The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Joseph Hospice, especially Barbara Burton.  The family would also like to thank all family and friends who provided meals, support, and assistance to the family during their time of need.
