"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Carl Bradley "Brad" Smith was born on July 21, 1959, in New Orleans, LA, to Robert "Bob" and Charlotte Smith, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Baton Rouge, LA.  He grew up in Gonzales, graduating from East Ascension Senior High and graduated from the Diesel Engine Technology Program of Lincoln Technical Insitute in Dallas, TX.

His career began as a diesel technician on marine engines for several years and transitioned into the industrial air compressor field.  Brad loved mechanic work and was happy when working on air compressor and happier when criticizing anybody else working on air compressors.  Anything with a motor interested him, but Harley Davidson motorcycles were his passion. For several years, Brad was active in the Patriot Guard Riders, a motorcycle group dedicated to serving and protecting the families of our fallen military heroes.

Brad is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his brother, Richard and wife, Stephanie Smith of Lake Charles; sister, Rita and husband, Lynn Lanoux of Clinton; four nieces, two nephews; four great nieces; four great nephews, and his beloved dogs, Charley and Joan.

A graveside service will be held at Hope Haven Gardens of Memory Cemetery Mausoleum on Hwy 30 in Gonzales on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11am.
