Bryan Jeffrey Smith

Bryan Jeffrey Smith, born February 28, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on August 29, 2026, in Baton Rouge, LA.

  Bryan moved through life with a bold and unmistakable spirit. A car dealership owner by trade, he built his life around hard work and a deep connection to the world of automobiles. He loved flipping cars, a passion that reflected both his sharp eye and his energy for the deal, the challenge, and the transformation. That same spirited nature showed itself early. In high school, Bryan was the winner of drag racing down Elliott Road, a memory that remained part of the story of who he was. He carried that drive and confidence into adulthood, leaving an impression on those who knew him. He could be stubborn and hardheaded, rough around the edges, and yet he was also remembered as a bully with a heart—a man whose toughness never fully concealed the feeling and loyalty beneath it.

  Among his most cherished times were those spent with his daughters at horse shows. He loved doing horse shows with them, and those moments were unforgettable for him. Even though that brought him enjoyment, he always wanted to come home a winner, with a first-place ride. 

  Bryan is survived by his mother, Oneita Smith; his father, Neill Smith; his sister, Melanie Marchand; his brother, David Smith; his daughter, Rylee Scandaliato and grandson Angelo; and his stepdaughter, Kaitlyn LeVangie and granddaughter Paisley.

  He was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Smith; his grandmothers, Dorothy Smith and Evelyn "Maw Maw Blanc" LeBlanc, a person in which he held a special bond with; and his grandfathers, Ben Smith and Allie LeBlanc.

  Bryan will be remembered for his grit, his passion for cars, his competitive streak, and the love he gave in his own distinct way.

Bryan's mother would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Baton Rouge Hospice who cared for him greatly in his final days. 

A memorial service to Honor Bryan's life will be announced at a later date.
