Bruce J. Simon was born on February 26, 1949, in Lutcher, Louisiana. He passed away on June 16, 2026, in Gonzales, Louisiana. Bruce was known as a good friend, a loving father, and a wonderful husband. He enjoyed many simple pleasures in life, such as fishing and hunting. He also loved riding his golf cart around with his neighbors and was a devoted fan of LSU baseball.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Joyce Simon. He was a proud father to Dawn Simon Brown (Jake) ; Ashley Simon Remondet ( Rusty); and step-father to Louie Becnel IV (Robin) and Becky Becnel Johnson (Bo). He is also survived by his siblings Arlene Roper, Judy Rodrigue, Pam Duhe, and Danny Simon. He also shared a special bond with his grandchildren: Amber Remondet LaBranche (Jake), Colt Johnson, Colby-Lyn Johnson, Rusty Walz, Olivia Walz, Jared Remondet (Madison), Zachary Brown, Megan Remondet Hewett (Bradley), and Abby Remondet. Bruce’s family continued to grow with the love of eight great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his son Jason Simon, great-granddaughter Acadia LaBranche, and his parents Ernest and Eunice Simon.
Bruce’s life was marked by his kindness, dedication to his family, and the joy he found in everyday moments. His family and friends will remember him for the warmth he shared and the time he spent with those he loved.
