Billie Sue Tolbert

Billie Sue Tolbert, 87, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at Flannery Oaks Guesthouse in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born to the late Cecil and Dovie Dubose, July 20, 1935, in Jasper, Texas.  Billie married William “Bill” Tolbert September 13, 1956.  She is a member of Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales, LA.  Billie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Tolbert; children Sue Tolbert, Prairieville, LA; Cheryl Tolbert, Prairieville, LA; Ritchie “Ritch” and Christy Tolbert, Fort Worth, Texas. She was known as “Nan” by her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank Nan’s caregiver, Lila Reed and Flannery Oaks Guesthouse for their loving care.  To honor Nan’s memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at the home of the Tolbert’s, 39459 Park Oak Ave, Prairieville, LA, Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 2pm to 5pm.   A private service will be held at Carter Cemetery in Rockland, Texas.  In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in support of Dementia/Alzheimer’s.
