Betty Conner

Betty Jean Conner was born August 9, 1931, in Helena Arkansas, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Conner. She moved to Chicago and married Eraster Hackett with whom she was blessed with 11 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Sam and Eugene Conner and her oldest daughter Adell (Darrick) Yancy.

She is survived by 10 children–Ralph (Betty), Johnny, Robert (Danita), Marena (Bennie) Corhn, Mary (Brian) Kopec, Alfred, Jacqueline (Thomas) McPhillips, Charles, E Carl, and Chris (Tamesa) Hackett, 25 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Betty was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in 1956. She became a regular pioneer, volunteering her time to teach others about the bible. As one of Jehovah’s witnesses for more than 60 years, her faith in Jehovah’s kingdom and the hope of a resurrection for those have passed was real and she often shared encouraging bible scriptures with anyone who would listen.

Her love for Jehovah and her family was evident in everything she did. In her roles as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother she served as a trusted mentor, a source for direction and encouragement.

Although suffering through a health issue, Betty’s faith and service to Jehovah never wavered. On Wednesday November 9, 2022 at 2:14 am she fell asleep in death, at home with her family. She had fought a good and faithful fight. She will be missed dearly.
