Betty Lee Causey Carter

Betty Lee Causey Carter, born in Galvez, LA November 24, 1932, and passed away in Baton Rouge, LA June 6, 2024, at the age of 91.  She loved time spent with her family, cooking and baking for them, gardening, taking care of her yard, dancing and fishing.  She retired from JC Penneys after 25 years.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Wendy Ortego (David) and Charlotte Bullock; grandchildren, Aaron, Tara, Michael, Chris, Amber; great grandchild, Vivian Lee, Micheala and Sophie Bullock, Jordan Johnson; sister, Freda Landry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family members.  

Betty is preceded in death by husbands, Cleveland J. Hurst and Joseph Marshall Carter; children, Cindy Carter and Gregory D Hurst; parents, Ernest and Victorine Causey; son-in-law, Clark Bullock; cousins, Donnie McMillion and Cleo Moore.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Lake Martin Baptist Church in Prairieville from 10am until service time at 11am.  Burial to follow at Mt. Zion/Household of Faith Church Cemetery in Prairieville.
