Betty Davis Babin, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on July 30th, 1929, Betty lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories in Gonzales, Louisiana.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Davis and Alva Braud, by her beloved first husband, James “Chunk” Dean Crawford, beloved second husband, Lionel "Boogie" Babin, and her two sons, Artie and Jimmy Crawford, who brought immeasurable joy into her life.  She is also preceded in death bey her brothers,  Curtis Wayne Davis and Lee Roy Davis. She was the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.

During her professional career, Betty dedicated twenty-five years of service to the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Outside of her professional life, Betty found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for fishing, loved nothing more than indulging in delicious food, especially when shared with her beloved family.

Betty's legacy is one of love, kindness, and warmth. While her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Gonzales with visitation starting at 10am until service time at 11am on Friday, March 1, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Betty's honor.

Betty Davis Babin touched the lives of many and left behind a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.
