Bessie "Maw-Maw" Bond

A retired employee of South Central Bell, and a native of Riverside, California, and resident of Denham Springs, Bessie died Friday, January 12, 2024. She was 87. Visitation will be at Hebron Baptist Church, Denham Springs, Tuesday, January 16, from 9:00 am until religious services at 11:00am. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Richard Hunter Bond and wife Dana; a daughter, Sidney Rae Bond Poliquin and husband Joseph; her siblings, Frances Boatner, Rev. Jack Varnado, Sue Matte, and Dot Owens; grandchildren, Kirstie Danielle Pearce and husband Logan, Kolby Brooke Bond, Hunter Blaise Bond, Jo-Jo Poliquin and wife Brittany, and Maddux "Maddie" Poliquin; great-grandchildren, Mia James Pearce and Charlotte Brice Pearce. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death her husband, Sidney Hunter Bond; her brother, Richard Varnado; and her parents, Manny Rae and Richard Orene Varnado.

Pallbearers will be Scooter Boatner, Justin Harris, Walt Tedder, Lennie LeBlanc, Rodney Burkley, Hunter Blaise Bond, Clint Harris, and Dusty Case.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Hebron’s Building Fund.
