Berdie Mae Adams Bennett

September 28, 1936 — May 2, 2025

Berdie Mae Adams Bennett entered into the loving arms of Jesus on May 2, 2025, at the age of 88. While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of our Savior — healed, whole, and surrounded by the glory of Heaven.

Born on September 28, 1936, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Berdie Mae was a woman full of life, love, and faith. She was known for her unique personality and her unwavering devotion to her family.

She was a devoted and loving mother to three children: Brenda Petty and husband Narvin, Shelia Welch and husband Ken, and Gordon King Jr. and wife Barbara. Her children were her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into raising them with strength, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Berdie Mae was also a proud Mawmaw to five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren all of whom adored her. Her home was a haven — filled with coffee and cookies.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Elvie Adams; three brothers, Ruben Adams, James Adams, and Jason Adams; four sisters, Stella Thomas, Pearlie Beeson, Letha Etheridge, and Elsie Alice Adams; two grandsons, Adam King Sr and Billy King.

She is survived by one sister Bertha Mae Adams Rumsey, her children, grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at The Pentecostals of Watson, located at 34639 La Highway 16, Denham Springs, LA 70706. Berdie Mae lived a beautiful life — one filled with love and laughter, Though we will miss her more than words can say, we find peace in knowing that her race is finished, her faith is fulfilled, and her joy is complete.
