Barbara Montecino Castrogovannie

Barbara Montecino Castrogovannie, age 86, of Donaldsonville, La went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Chateau D’ville. She was born on September 8, 1936, to Wilson and Melina Cavalier Montecino. Barbara was the Owner and Operator of the ABC’s Day Care and Playskool. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family and friends and was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Albert “Black” Castrogovannie; two sons, Ricky Castrogovannie and wife, Robin, Blaine Castrogovannie and wife, Trish; three daughters Penny Boudreaux and husband, Ronnie, Candy Guillot, and Alley “Teetie” Castrogovannie; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Melina Cavalier Montecino, 6 sisters, Elsie Ruiz, Elfa Hebert, Helen Vicknair, Essie Mae Hebert, Gladys Castro, and Mary Lee Blanchard. Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with entombment to follow in the church mausoleum. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Chateau D’ville, especially Lainey LeBoeuf. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks at https://www.autismspeaks.org.
