Barbara Barbier Bullock passed away at home on Saturday, September 6, surrounded by love.
Barbara was a wife and mother, an artist, a special aunt, and a dear friend to many. Originally from White Castle, Barbara lived in Baton Rouge since 1982 when she started LSU, where she received her bachelor's degree. She was a teacher at Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Jude, and Our Lady of Mercy until she decided to homeschool her own children. She later became a personal assistant, home organizer, and bookkeeper. She enjoyed volunteering at The Red Shoes and Woman’s New Life Clinic.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Cliff Bullock, and their two children, Claire and Daniel, her sisters Liz Kearney and husband Kevin, and Ruth Barbier, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Though the past year has been a struggle, Barbara lived every minute to the fullest and with love in her heart. She was surrounded by light and love and was extremely grateful for those who provided it. Special gratitude goes to Dr. Joseph Shows, his staff and the infusion nurses at Mary Bird Perkins, Dr. John Tabor and his staff at Advanced Robotics of Louisiana, and the doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Hospital, especially the nurses in the oncology ward. The family would also like to thank Penny Clement, her dear friend of 55 years, for assisting in her care.
A memorial service and reception will be held at The Retreat at Quarters Lake, 8890 Quarters Lake Rd., Baton Rouge, on Sunday, September 28, beginning at 5:00 pm. If you wish to make a memorial contribution, please consider Woman’s New Life Clinic or The Retreat at Quarter’s Lake.
