It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Annie Earl Snell Garrity, who departed this life on August 13, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on January 31, 1932, Annie’s long and fulfilling life touched many, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family.
Annie was the daughter of the late Charles E Snell Sr. and Helen Norris Snell, both of whom preceded her in death. Her early years were filled with the simple joys of family and education, and she graduated from Mt. Hermon High School in Mt. Hermon, LA—a proud milestone that began a lifelong commitment to purpose and diligence.
Professionally, Annie dedicated many faithful years as a valued employee of Domino Sugar in Arabi, LA, later concluding her career with her retirement from Kaiser Aluminum in Gramercy, LA. Throughout her working life, she was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and the warmth she extended to her colleagues. Her contributions to these companies and the friendships she fostered there remained a source of pride throughout her retirement.
Annie’s life was also rich with treasured relationships. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis J Garrity, her brother Lorenzo Snell, her sister Eddie Jean Dupont, her niece Linda Dupont, and her nephew Michael Dupont. Their memories endure, held close by those who loved them.

She is survived by her brother Charles Edward Snell Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews: Tonya Brandon, Debbie Gabriel, Randy Dupont, Brittney Babin, Melissa Gabriel, Chez Babin, Ronnie Gabriel, Adisson Maher, Aubree Maher, Collin Carney, and Julien C. Landry. Their lives have been shaped by her kindness, her wisdom, and the steadfast support she offered at every turn.
Those who knew Annie will remember her as a pillar of strength, a source of comfort in difficult times, and a beacon of unconditional love. Her memory will live on, and she will continue to be very loved and cherished by her family and friends.
She will be laid to rest at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens (701 W. Virtue St. Chalmette, LA 70043)
