Amy Schexnayder Waguespack, born on September 14, 1964, in Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at her home on June 24, 2026, in Darrow, LA. Amy was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend. Her life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and her incredible resilience through life's challenges.
Amy's greatest joy came from spending time with her cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Easton, Cohen, and Hayden. Her eyes would light up as she cheered them on and listened to their stories, relishing every moment of their company. They were truly the lights of her life.
She is survived by her beloved children, Brooke and Blake Waguespack, along with their father, Kurt Waguespack. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her father, Eugene 'Genie' Schexnayder, and stepfather, Darius 'Winkie' Leger. Amy shared a special bond with her siblings, Pat Schexnayder (Marsha), Dawn Delaune (Kelly), Mark Schexnayder (Jesslyn), Brandy Leger, Stephanie Janis (Brian), and Virginia Caballero. Her legacy also includes numerous godchildren, nieces, and nephews, who will forever cherish her love and guidance.
Preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Martine Leger, Amy's life was a testament to the strength of familial bonds. Her memory will be held dearly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
