Allen Settoon

Allen Settoon, born in Ponchatoula, LA on January 8, 1943, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old. Allen was a proud family man, who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan, who loved cheering on his LSU Tigers. Allen could often be found lying in the sun, outside enjoying nature every chance he got. He relished in making people laugh at his jokes and his sense of humor was that only unique to him. Allen was an All-State and All-American selection in basketball at Ponchatoula High School in 1961. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia O’Neill Settoon; children, Tonya Settoon Aultman (Craig), Carla Settoon Dabadie, and Brandon Settoon (Risa); grandchildren, Allison Aultman, Carson Dabadie, Dani and Abby Settoon; sister, Carlene Landry and beloved pet, his princess, Tinkerbell. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Allen Settoon, Sr., and Ruth McCrory Settoon. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Graceworks Church in Prairieville, LA from 9am until service time at 11am. Burial to follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gonzales. Brandon Settoon, Joel Settoon, Jason Settoon, Jason Williams, Carson Dabadie, and Craig Aultman will serve as pallbearers.
