Listen to Obituary

Allen Ray Meades, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Walker, Louisiana on June 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Allen was born on October 1, 1954, and if you knew him, you knew he had a huge heart. He was always the first to help, the last to complain, and someone you could always count on. He had a way of making people feel at home — no matter who they were. He was a lifelong sports fan, but above all, he loved LSU. Purple and gold ran deep in his blood. Saturdays were for Tiger football, and Allen was happiest watching the game, surrounded by family, with his little dog Tiger right there beside him.

Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Meades; his brother, Randy Roshto; and his sister, Renae Courtade.

He is survived by his sister Gladys Gee (Donnie), brothers Richard Roshto (Lynn) and Darryl Roshto (Dawn), and sister-in-law Shannon Roshto. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his devoted dog Tiger, who stayed by his side through it all.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m., at the family's home in Walker. In true Allen fashion, it will be LSU-themed, and everyone is encouraged to wear purple and gold as we gather to share memories, laughter, and love;

— just the way Allen would've wanted.

Allen will be remembered for his loyalty, his kindness, his deep love for his family, and his fierce pride in the Tigers. He'll be missed more than words can say — but his memory will live on every game day, every time we hear "Geaux Tigers".
