Allden Roy Frederickson

Allden Roy Frederickson passed away peacefully, surrounded by his 4 sons. After 3 1/2 months of lonely separation from his loving wife of 74 years, the late Janet Cambre Frederickson, Allden was reunited with her in the kingdom of God on July 29, 2026, at the age of 97. He was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Frederick and Catherine Frederickson. He is preceded in death by his brother Frederick Frederickson, ll.

He is survived by his loving sons, Richard Frederickson (Susan), Roger Frederickson (Sharon), Wayne Frederickson (Karen), and Glenn Frederickson (Lori); 8 grandchildren, Chad Frederickson (Jeni), Pamela McCrory (Carleigh), Ashley Brown (Matthew), Kevin Frederickson (Amy), Tyler Frederickson, Katherine Banta (Blake), Emily Perkins (Ryan), and Corey Frederickson (Heather); 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Allden and Janet met while crossing the Mississippi River on the Algiers Ferry, calling their marriage a "Ferry Tale." Together with their sons they loved traveling and camping in National Parks and other historic places.

Allden loved gardening, especially growing creole tomatoes: taking walks along the Mississippi River levee; working with his sons on school projects, and supporting them at school, sports, and scouting events. He was known for his funny fun-fact speeches, and Norwegian family songs and toasts passed down many generations! He will be missed by all!

Memorial Service:

A Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 8th, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 15208 LA 73, Prairieville, LA. Mass will follow at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. John Evangelical Church, or a favorite charity of your choosing.
