Alfred Eugene Sistrunk

A ceremony celebrating the life of Alfred E. “Gene” Sistrunk will be held on Saturday November 29, 2025, at First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Billy Johnson and Rev. Robert Jones officiating. A eulogy will be given by Evelyn Nodine. Graveside services will follow at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.

He was born on March 16, 1940, in Hammond, La and rested from this life on November 24, 2025, at the age of 85. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a devoted and faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs, serving on the Board of Directors and also serving as church administrator until his retirement in 2009.

He is preceded in death by his father Rev. W. W. Sistrunk, his mother Mildred Hart Sistrunk, his sister Louise Sistrunk, and a son in law Michael Trigg.

He is survived by his wife Carleen Forbes Sistrunk, daughters Rene’ Trigg, and Kara Jeffers (Kenny) and his brother Paul Sistrunk. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Kendra Pierson, Kellye Barber (Wesley), and Raelyn Summers (Caleb), and great grandchildren Scarlett, Silas, and Shep Barber.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Caleb Summers, Kenny Jeffers, Jeff Sistrunk, Wesley Barber, Travis Tharp, and Mike Lockhart.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Board of Directors First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs.
