Albert Robinson Ellis III “Robby” went home to Our Lord on August 25, 2023, at the age of 62. Robby lived a life defined by dedication, resilience, and love. His talents shone brightly on the baseball field, football field and basketball court, earning him admiration and respect from all who had the privilege of witnessing his performances. Yet, it was not just his athletic abilities that set him apart—it was his indomitable spirit and his capacity to overcome challenges that truly made him remarkable. He was a devoted follower of God, a cherished father, brother and trusted friend. A dedicated father, Robby treasured his role as a parent. His love for his children was immeasurable. His legacy as a loving father will forever be woven into the lives of his children, inspiring them to carry forward the values he held dear. In the face of adversity, Robby drew strength from his unbreakable bond with his children and family. Their unwavering support was a beacon of light during his toughest times, a testament to the power of love and unity. Their presence and encouragement fueled his determination and inspired him to persevere through challenges with unwavering resolve. While his accomplishments in sports were undeniable, Robby’s faith was at the core of his being. His relationship with God provided him with solace, guidance, and a source of profound gratitude. His faith illuminated his path, guiding him through both victories and trials, and his example served as an inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know him. Robby is survived by his two children, Grant Ellis and Madelynn Juge and her husband, Jacob Juge; his 4 siblings, Jan Ellis, Joni Luce and husband, Steve Luce, Andrew Ellis and wife, Yvette Ellis, and Michael Ellis. Robby was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mildred Ellis, and his loving best friend and lifetime lover, Kelley Ellis. In celebrating Robby’s life, a funeral mass will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 Saint George Drive, Baton Rouge at 11:00 a.m. on September 7, 2023. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. May Robby find eternal rest and peace in the arms of the Lord, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live with purpose, love unconditionally, and find strength in our faith.
