Proverbs 31:25-26   (25) She is clothed with strength and dignity. She can laugh at the days to come. (26) She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Ellen “LaRue” Swanson, 73, went home to the Lord on March 7, 2023. LaRue is survived by her children; Greg Swanson (Toni Swanson), Shannon Swanson, Jeremy Swanson (Shelley Swanson), Carrie Swanson; her brother, Bryan “Flick” Transue (Regina Transue); grandchildren Chrissy Lachney (Madison Lachney), Zachery Swanson Davis, Amanda Swanson, Bradley LaFleur, Emily Swanson, Kamryn Swanson, Layne Swanson, Lauren Swanson, T.J. Swanson, A.J. Weil, Amiyah Swanson, Braxton Smith; and great grandchildren, Riley Lachney and Maverick Lachney.

LaRue was a selfless, God fearing, loving mother and grandmother. She was considered a second mother to many and welcomed all with open arms. LaRue will be deeply missed.

Timothy 4:7  I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Gonzales Baptist Temple, 2807 S. Hodgeson Ave., Gonzales, LA on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10AM until 11AM. The Funeral Service will begin at 11AM. Interment to follow at Richardson Cemetery, St. Amant, LA
