Randall Charles Hoyt

On Thursday morning, February 23, 2023, Randall Charles Hoyt left this world and his tired, sick body behind and went to his eternal home in Heaven. He was 66 years old. Randy was born on March 6, 1956, in Baton Rouge Louisiana to Homer Charles Hoyt, Jr and Eva Lucille Stewart Hoyt. He graduated from Denham Springs High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. Randy enjoyed family history and genealogy, was a meticulous record keeper, and like his daddy, a very sharp dresser. He loved growing beautiful plants and flowers and canning vegetables. But his true passion in life was cooking. Randy had an amazing talent in the kitchen. He owned Davis BBQ in Denham Springs for many years and ran a catering business from the restaurant, which he enjoyed immensely. Randy’s greatest joy in life, before he became sick, was to prepare his special dishes and cook for those he loved. If you knew him, chances were in your favor that he would prepare something special for you at one time or another. That was how he showed love — it was truly his gift. Randy loved his family, and he loved the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brother Rodney Lloyd Hoyt Sr and wife, Chenoa; nephew Rodney Hoyt Jr and wife Crystal; niece Renee Hoyt; niece Morgan LeBlanc and husband Destin. Many great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. A ceremony celebrating the life of Randy will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday March 2, 2023, at First United Pentecostal Church Denham Springs, visitation will begin at 9:00 until time of the service. Pallbearers will be Rodney Hoyt, Joey Hoyt, Dwayne Phinney, Terry Phinney, Eddie Hanson, Ralph Stewart, and Craig Forbes. Honorary pallbearers will be Destin LeBlanc and Donald Raborn. Interment will follow at Hutchinson Cemetery, Albany, LA. Interment will follow at Hutchinson Cemetery, Albany, LA.
